We are delighted to offer a limited number of 2027 Reverse Frosted Proof Sovereigns. Following the return to yellow gold in 2026, the 2027 issues continue in yellow gold for a second year. Unlike standard Proof Sovereigns, these special editions feature a frosted background with highly polished raised detail, creating a distinctive reverse Proof finish. Each coin features the uncrowned portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings, paired with Benedetto Pistrucci’s classic St George and the Dragon reverse.
The Sovereign of King Charles III carries the obverse legend ‘CHARLES III · DEI · GRA · REX · FID · DEF’, which translates from Latin as “King Charles III, by the Grace of God, Defender of the Faith.”
