2026 King Charles III 'Duchess of Hamilton' £2 Gold Proof Coin

Built in 1938, LMS 6229 Duchess of Hamilton is one of Britain’s most celebrated steam locomotives, symbolising the golden age of luxury rail travel and British engineering.

Now honoured for the first time on an official UK coin, this release features a detailed reverse design by Gary Breeze, created in partnership with the National Science Museum Group, making it a fitting tribute to one of Britain’s greatest railway legends.
