The 2012 Diamond Jubilee “Strike on the Day” Gold Sovereign was minted on June 2, 2012, the opening day of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, making it a truly limited-edition collector’s coin. The reverse showcases Paul Day’s unique interpretation of St George and the Dragon, while the obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley’s portrait of the Queen.
