The Royal Mint have commissioned a number of special edition proof coins to mark this momentous occasion, starting on 6th January 2022 with the release of the first 2 coins in the collection. Unlike the currency coins these coin will all feature a specially commissioned obverse which bears the commemorative Platinum Jubilee portrait of Her Majesty The Queen by John Bergdahl.

The reverse features a beautifully decorative reverse design inspired by the royal mantle, or robe, worn by Her Majesty at the coronation in 1953 by John Bergdahl features a regal design centralised by the quartered shield of the Royal Arms with the The edge inscription reads : SERVE YOU ALL THE DAYS OF MY LIFE. Celebrating 2022 Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The coin is accompanied by a booklet that reveals how the coinage portraits have charted The Queen’s remarkable 70-year reign.
